[Singing] Angela Aki - One Melody

August 22nd, 2008

My new favorite of Angela Aki, beautifully performed. I actually like the live version much better. Below I translated the lyrics at my best to keep the original meaning.

[Music Sharing] Yuna Ito - Truth

April 22nd, 2008

I’m in a Yuna Ito mode. I like this one better than Endless Love. Powerful song.

[Music Sharing] Yuna Ito - Endless Story

Beautiful vocal — great range and emotions — and great song… I have found a new jewel after Angela Aki.

[Music Sharing]

[Music Sharing] Angela Aki - Kodoku no Kakera

October 22nd, 2007

Notice a trend of sharing Angela Aki’s music in the Music Sharing category?
I love Angela Aki!

This song is her sixth and latest single. The video shows a live performance of the song, and it’s phenomenal. Her piano is sensational as usual, but her voice and the control of it in this video is even better than “The One” and “My Keys” concert.

[Music Sharing]

July 17th, 2007

I really like this new song from Leehom. His singing has improved, and his control/technique is “just right” for the emotion of the song.

*repeat

[Music Sharing] Intro to Angela Aki

January 17th, 2007

It has been a long long while since I got into Japanese songs. Last artist I got into was Nakashima Mika, and that was awhile ago. If I listened to J-song, it’s just whatever I’ve from the old times. But, I came across the beautiful…

*** Angela Aki ***

through Final Fantasy XII. I found her being very unique in many ways. First of all, she’s a Japanese-Italian-American mix. Another very strong point about her is a lot of her live performance is basically, a voice and a piano (and no flashy clothing and make-up). I truly enjoy that. She sings very well and something in her voice lets me listen to her repeatedly. She has a very awesome concert called “ONE” in 2006, like I said, with just her voice and a piano. The first time I listened to her Kiss Me Goodbye live in Japanese, she moved me to tears… *blush* (I cannot embed the youtube video because they blocked it). It’s superb compared to the CD version.

Here’s the English version of Kiss Me Goodbye live:

I have to say the Japanese version sounds much better and more emotional to me :P Oh, yeah, another good attribute about Angela is that her English is spoken very well… why so special? Because I always hear English in other Japanese songs that just got butchered…

Anyways, here are some more excellent video of our beloved Angela Aki:

Home - live

Eyes on Me, from Final Fantasy 8 and originally sung by Faye Wong:
(Difficult to compare between the two. They’re just different styles, but Angela’s English is more legible.)
